For a while now I’ve been looking for LGBTQA+ comics that have some action in them. For some reason they are hard for me to find. I know that there are cool characters from the community like deadpool, mystic, poison ivy, ect, but if you’re like me and you’re not really into those Cape and tight comcis it’s hard to find. There are however some good ones that I feel like I should share with you all.
Paper girls, written by Brain k. Vaughn and illustrated by cliff Chiang,is a great science fiction comic about a bad as group of friends time traveling through space and time. This series is complete with 5 vols.
Lumberjanes, created by noelle Stevenson, grace ellis, shannon watters, and Brooklyn allen, is about a group of girls going away to summer camp and defending the planet from the supernatural and unexplained. It’s kind of like the girls scouts and supernatural mixed it on. The last time I check this series is still coming out with different writers and illustrators
Y: the last man is one of my all time favorites. Everything with a Y chromosome dies in the world except for this 1 guy and his pet monkey. He has to travel across country with a scientist and an assassin while being hunted. I dont want to give to much away. This series Is over
If you’re not reading saga get on it. My take on it is that it’s a science fiction Romeo and Juliet tale, but instead of killing themselves they ran away and started a family and now they are being hunted down. This series is still going on but it’s been a few years since anything new has come out
I know I know there’s a lot of Brain K. Vaughn on this list but his a pretty good writer. These are my all time favorites and it’s a good place to start if you are getting into comics. Some other good ones that you should definitely read are
The new Buffy the Vampire series by Boom comics
Marvels runaways (its completely different from the show)
And
Legends of korra
Batwoman is also good If you’re into Cape and tights.
To Jessica: At first Tally was "a living exclamation mark" but now she's not. In episode 8 we could see how that particular light Tally always carried was gone.I was wondering how it made you feel and how did you prepare to deliver such an amazing performance? Thank you!
